The first smart district model
ChorusLife is the first smart district project in Italy designed to be replicated, and Bergamo will be its first home:
- 150,000 sqm of abandoned urban area, now reclaimed and redeveloped
- The construction of the first Arena of the city, with a variable capacity up to 6,500 seats
- A new concept of wellness, with a more than 8,500 sqm Urban SPA
- A large parking lot with more than 1,100 spaces
- A residential estate of 74 apartments, in addition to the 107 rooms of the 4*S Hotel
ChorusLife Bergamo is built around people, which are at the foundation of the new district: an ecosystem designed to change the community and regenerate its members, within inclusive and barrier-free spaces where technology and sustainability embrace the dream of a possible future.

GSM - Space to Places will make all of this a reality. It's a revolutionary digital platform that coordinates smart cities and smart buildings on several levels. GSM designed and developed the ChorusLife app, which will facilitate interactions between people and all the district areas: food&beverage, shopping, Urban SPA, the Arena, and any other service within ChorusLife Bergamo.
Purchasing a ticket for an event in the Arena, ordering food, reserving a parking space or a table in a restaurant: these are just a few examples of the interactive experience to enjoy by downloading the ChrousLife app.

The ChorusLife Bergamo project is driven by 11 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals set in the UN's 2030 Agenda. These goals are then further detailed into 169 targets to be achieved in the environmental, economic, social and institutional spheres.
The ChorusLife project was developed with great attention to environmental sustainability. In fact, the smart district is in the running for LEED for Neighbourhood Development certification, level GOLD. The features of the LEED ND standard include in particular a high-density masterplan, developed on a formerly industrial, polluted and degraded site. By implementing a comprehensive on-site soil remediation and reclamation strategy, ChorusLife will transform the area into a vibrant, healthy neighbourhood that connects with neighbouring communities.
Once this certification is obtained, ChorusLife will be one of the first three Italian districts to be LEED ND certified, and one of the first 10 in Europe.
